The physical sound and vibration of the gong is powerful and soothing, invigorating and relaxing. Enter the studio, lie down (or sit if you'd rather) and allow the sounds to “wash” over you as Kenny takes you on a deep inward journey. He creates a beautiful interwoven tapestry of sound and rhythm that allows you to relax into new found areas of your own awareness.
More about Gong Meditation
The gong is one of the oldest musical instruments in the world. Based on ancient wisdom, the gongs vibrate at the same frequency as the body allowing the body to heal itself. The sounds and vibrations of the gong create deep relaxation and state of meditation by altering brain waves from a Beta (waking state) to Theta & Delta (deep meditation).
Science teaches that during these brain frequencies we access our deeper subconscious and superconscious and they are key states for healing. Many people have noticeable experiences during a Gong Meditation – aka Sound Bath. People can feel their bodies twitch (as the energy meridians are cleared & balanced), have insights, bursts of creative ideas, see splashes of color behind their closed eyes, out of body experiences, or simply experience feelings of total peace & connectedness.
Gong sound can be used to re-balance the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies. It has a profound effect on our cardiovascular, autonomic, endocrine and immune systems. It is an excellent therapy for stress related issues, depression, fatigue, anger and hostility, feelings of separation, loneliness, and fear along with many other conditions related to lack of balance and harmony in the body. During a session energy may be released in emotions or physical responses, heart rate slows, blood pressure drops and breath is restored to its natural rhythm.

Kenny Kolter approaches sound therapy and gong meditation with a subtle rhythmic quality, teasing out the vast array of tones, harmonics and shimmering nuances that reside within the instrument. His goal is to be a sound bridge between the energy and spirit that lie within the gong and to sonically draw out or tune into the energy and spirit that resides in all of us.
Kenny is a musician and certified reiki healer known for his transformative and nourishing gong meditations, has been playing percussion instruments since the age of 9 and practicing meditation since age 12. His sessions incorporate gongs, drums, rattles, chimes and Tibetan singing bowls to blend a range of soothing vibrations with rhythmic undertones that invite attendees to surrender tension and enter a meditative state that is still connected to the surroundings by sound.
Kenny has led more than 1,300 Sound Therapy group sessions and facilitated hundreds of private sessions. After moving from Chicago, Kenny began sharing this transformational work with the Dallas community through The Dallas Yoga Center in 2012. He has also offering Sound Therapy in numerous health institutions including Hospitals, Cancer Treatment Centers, and Mental Health Facilities. He continues to be amazed by the power of sound in bringing the body, mind and spirit to profound state of a peace.
