Cheryl K.

With over a decade of experience as an instructor at the Dallas Yoga Center (DYC), Cheryl King is an advanced instructor, specializing in various styles of meditation. Cheryl infuses her classes with diverse cultural influences, drawing from her extensive background in world religions and her immersion experiences in Thailand, where she explored Theravadic styles of meditation. Her journey into meditation and yoga began during her college years and evolved over time. In her early forties, while a masters level professor, Cheryl encountered a health crisis and found solace and rejuvenation in meditation and yoga, igniting her passion for teaching and leading her to transition from a two-decade career in academia to full-time yoga and meditation instruction. With her qualifications, including training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) from UMASS Medical School in Boston and a Therapeutic Yoga certificate from the Integral Yoga Institute, Cheryl brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her role, enriching the lives of her students.
