MCT - Mindfulness

MCT - Mindfulness instructs the following:
  • Community Mindfulness classes – taught by MCT – Mindfulness Certification Trainees
  • Community Yoga classes – taught by MCT – Mindfulness Certification Trainees

    A win / win for everyone! DYC $5 Community Mindfulness classes are beginner-friendly classes that will be taught by Trainees enrolled in DYC’s current MCT Training Program.

    The Community Mindfulness Meditation classes will explore the ability to practice mindfulness throughout our daily lives based on central themes. During each session, we will use breathing, sensory experiences, visualization, intention, or mindful movement techniques. At the end of the class, you will have the opportunity to ask questions, talk about your experiences, and discuss physiological and psychological outcomes. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress, improve attention, cope with difficult situations, and increase feelings of compassion.

    All levels welcome; previous background is not needed to begin. Comfortable clothes suggested. Chairs will be available.

    Remember – everyone starts teaching somewhere. Even your favorite DYC teachers started in these very same shoes. Come support our MCT Trainees as they begin sharing their love of mindfulness with our DYC community!

    *Proceeds from these classes will go into DYC's Hanuman Fund, a scholarship program that assists aspiring yoga students and instructors in their training.
