Lauren

Lauren began practicing yoga nearly 15 years ago as a way to increase flexibility, but it quickly became apparent there was much more to be found. After years of trying many different styles in several studios, she found her deepest connection with a sound-vibration based power practice. This approach connected her to the amazing gift of meditation through asana, which led her to explore other meditation forms & various workshops.

After having two children, as a working mom, the importance of her yoga practice became paramount in helping create harmony in daily life. Through teacher training at the Dallas Yoga Center, Lauren discovered new ways to connect with sound meditation and restorative yoga, which once again shifted her entire perspective and practice. A profound interest in holistic wellness has led her to study Ayurveda, pranayama, aromatherapy & more. Lauren's goal as a teacher is to compassionately guide others to find more balance and peace through yoga and meditation. She hopes everyone can experience deep connection to oneself and pure bliss through any style of practice, yin to yang, and take what they learn with them off the mats.

Lauren instructs the following:
  • Vinyasa Mixed Levels
  • Experience a dynamic flow of yoga postures in which movement is sequenced with the breath. This practice moves at a more moderate pace to build heat, endurance, flexibility, strength and concentration. Sequencing is often built around sun salutations.  All levels welcome.

  • Sound Healing Meditation
  • Experience the healing power of sound through chanting, toning, mantra, with singing bowls or harmonium. Connect the breath & sound to create a deeply relaxed meditative state. Discussion of principles included. All levels.

  • DYC Yoga in the Park
  • Outdoor yoga with DYC instructors. Come join the DYC community for an outdoor yoga session under the big blue Texas skies. All Levels Welcome.

  • Women's Moon Gathering - April
  • $20 Limited Space is available

“my feet touch the grass still wet with dew and I give thanks

both to my mother earth for sustaining my steps

and to the seas cycling once again to bring forth new life…..”
                                                                                       Harriet Kofalf

Join Lauren Margolies for Women’s Moon Gathering on April 16th, the week after the Harvest Full Moon. Our Women’s Moon Gathering invites women to take time out for sacred reflection and meditation on the divine feminine, on the light that the moon sheds on our inner knowing, and on our connection with each other and all of life. As we move more deeply into Spring, we will celebrate Mother Earth and all that she does to sustain us. Together we will ground our energy through our connection to the Earth and connect with what we have learned through the prior week's Harvest moon and share the wisdom we have learned through giving back.

Lauren will use crystal singing bowls for a sound healing mediation. We will tap into our inner guidance and learn to identify specific frequencies within our own bodies and use that frequency to move any blocked energy within us. Through oracle cards, we will tune into any energetic connection we may have to that blocked energy. Prepare to leave relax and refreshed after being bathed in the healing sound of the singing bowls and community with other women.

    What to expect:

Chanting to calm the mind and center the body’s energy
Oracle cards for personal insight and reflection
    Experiential journey into sound healing
Grounding with the Earth and planting seeds of intentions
Mediation to connect ourselves, others and our surroundings
