“A small body of determined spirits fired by an unquenchable faith in their mission can alter the course of history."
                                                                          -Mahatma Gandhi

Hold onto your hats ladies, because things are about to get intense. Join us on August 13th, the week after the Lunar eclipse on Monday, August 7th, and the week before the total solar eclipse on Monday, August 21st. For the first time in 99 years a total solar eclipse will cut a path across the continental US from Oregon through South Carolina, and will reach it’s maximum at 1:09pm in Texas.

Eclipses have the capacity to create drama, but we will be prepared and grounded after this time together. Join Lauren Margolies and Kathleen Lohr as they guide you through Ayurvedic and meditation techniques to keep you functioning at your best.

Kathleen will demonstrate a mini Agnihotra ceremony. Agnihotra (agni means fire, hotra means healing) is an ancient fire ritual from India. Agnihotra is one of many sacred healing fire ceremonies from the ancient Vedic tradition that provide profound healing for our planet and all her inhabitants. Agnihotra is the simplest and most profound of these. A small fire is burned in a copper pyramid, accompanied by chanting to create a specific effect. These ceremonies offer a framework for group or individual emotional and physical healing, relinquishing unwanted beliefs, habits or thought patterns, and well as manifesting. Ceremonies can be offered for healing the planet, world peace, or any purpose in harmony with the Universe.

Our Women’s Moon Gathering invites women to take time out for sacred reflection and meditation on the divine feminine, on the light that the moon sheds on our inner knowing, and on our connection with each other and all of life.

What to expect in this full moon:

* Chanting to center our thoughts
* Breathing techniques to ground us
* Mini demonstration of Agnihotra Purifying Ceremony
* Sound meditation to calm the nervous system
* Connecting to other women in community

Kathleen Lohr - LMT, Ayurvedist

Kathleen became enchanted with Ayurveda nearly thirty years ago when a fellow herbalist returned from Nepal and described the exotic form of healthcare practiced there. She immediately became a lifelong student of the world’s original and most expansive holistic health system, never imagining this passion was laying the foundation for her life’s calling.

After enjoying careers as an industrial photographer and in the corporate world, Kathleen became licensed in massage in order to prepare for a scholarship in the Sri Sri Ayurveda Six-Month Residential Internship at the Arte de Vivre Ashram in Quebec, Canada. During this excellent and intensive program, she perfected the Ayurvedic Bodywork treatments, Marma Chikitsa and Pancha Karma techniques that form the basis of her work. Upon returning to Dallas, Kathleen established her practice and fondly named it “SweetOjas” after her favorite passage from Dr Vasant Lad’s Textbook on Ayurveda.

~ Experience the richly nourishing, herb infused base oils for Abhyanga and Shirodhara or the more subtle balancing essential oils and attars used in Marma Chikitsa. You will attain Nirvana with the sensual golden healing ghee of the rejuvenation treatments.

Lauren Margolies began practicing yoga nearly 15 years ago as a way to increase flexibility, but it quickly became apparent there was much more to be found. After years of trying many different styles in several studios, she found her deepest connection with a sound-vibration based power practice. This approach connected her to the amazing gift of meditation through asana, which led her to explore other meditation forms & various workshops.

After having two children, as a working mom, the importance of her yoga practice became paramount in helping create harmony in daily life. Through teacher training at the Dallas Yoga Center, Lauren discovered new ways to connect with sound meditation and restorative yoga, which once again shifted her entire perspective and practice. A profound interest in holistic wellness has led her to study Ayurveda, pranayama, aromatherapy & more. Lauren's goal as a teacher is to compassionately guide others to find more balance and peace through yoga and meditation. She hopes everyone can experience deep connection to oneself and pure bliss through any style of practice, yin to yang, and take what they learn with them off the mats.
